Kurashiki

No Comments Blog, Travel

Kurashiki is only a few kilometers west of Okayama City. During the Edo Period, Kurashiki was a center for storing rice harvested from surrounding, fertile regions. Kurashiki is interpreted as “storehouse town”. Several dozen of the original storehouses (kura) can still be found in this beautiful town with tree lined canals.

A keen photographer and Japanese language learner. After working as an engineer for 10 years in Adelaide & Sydney Australia, I headed to Japan and fell in love with the culture, people and nature of this beautiful land. Since that visit, I changed my career, became a teacher and photographer and my goal is to some day live in Japan.
